If you don't want to stay too far from home 5-minute stroll will find you in the nearby resort of Oasis Park boasts a good bar, and a few local restaurants which are open to the public within a 10 minutes walk is a lovely traditional Portuguese restaurant called Campus.
The medieval town of Silves is around 20 minutes drive with its historic walled castle and old town and Lagos is approximately a 20 to 25 minutes drive.
